Naw, i don't think I'll be getting married any time too soon. Not where i wanna be in terms of career.

And read this article Sheki. I think the wrench has just been thrown in your PS3 plans.

Do you guys actually have time to play these things? And how much is the PS3?

Why wouldn't we have time to play? I still play games everyday on my ps2.

The premium PS3 was announced to be around 600 USD. What a joke. You could buy an xbox 360 plus a nintendo with that money and still have enough money to take your lo may out for dinner.

I'd love to get my hands on a ps3 to abuse for a month, but i doubt if id buy and keep until the hot games start tricklin out.

My plan is to pick up the Wii for Zelda, then probably the Xbox3 when Halo3 comes out.

I'll prob end up selling the Wii after im done zelda too

we'll have to see which has a larger sphere of influence. definately interesting.. altho microsoft will be a tough feat.

Neither one is gonna win. Both formats have officially bombed. I don't remember where i saw the results, but almost no one has bought one because nobody cares. And the way Sony is going, they're pretty much F'ed in the A.

If I had to call a winner, I'd say hd-dvd. Just because blu-ray is part of the ps3 doesn't make it the leader by default. Look at UMD's on psp or mini-discs, no one cares about them. HD-dvd had better video quality and is a lot cheaper.

i thought blu-ray had better video quality and higher storage capacity.

blu-ray has nothign to do with the ps3
i'm talking about sony entertainment and the influence it has over movies and media

BluRay has potentially higher capacity PER layer but quality of vid isnt totally dependent on the available space. Gotta look at the software they're using and how they encode the video. It's the format that matters really.

And this whole discussion is old anyways, they have chips now that play both formats. And a disc that has HDDVD and Bluray and DVD layers. What does that mean.... IT means it dooesnt matter what u buy anymore. It is supported.

Dude, didn't you hear? The chips to handle both formats most probably aren't worth a damn. When selling licenses to the for the new technology, sony (and i think toshiba too) included a stipulation saying that the manufacturer would not attempt to make a hybrid player.

Seriously, who runs these companies? Are they fucking retarded or something?

khoe, you and don are the IT guys that don't bathe. perhaps you two can brainstorm and find a solution to this problem and propose something to these big corps.

Stop using real names!!!

I don't see what this has to do with IT. It's not a technology problem. As usual, it was the business-types that dropped the ball because their understanding of anything is negligible at best.

my bad on the names.
